Daycare services are available throughout the province. It has been proved that learning begins with exploration, discovery and play. For over 10 years, all French-language schools have been offering full-time junior and senior kindergarten programs to children ages 4 and 5. These programs offer:
Some schools even offer programs to children starting at age 3. All of these extracurricular daycare services are provided to meet the needs of parents before and after school hours and during school holidays. These services are rapidly growing. Recently, 26 new daycare services have been implemented within French-language school boards; these will provide approximately 700 new child care spaces for children ages 2.5 to 3.8. FLE has an ambitious agenda to rapidly increase early childhood programs and the services offered within its schools.
These programs are beneficial to children’s academic performance and their personal, social and intellectual development.
